Over the past five years Love Te Arai have helped trap pests, do regenerative planting, treat kauri for dieback, monitor rare birds - Tara Iti (Fairy Terns) and Matuku (Australasian Bitterns), and remove plastic from our beaches while also ensuring notification of consents and submitting against operations which impact the environment. We will continue all these activities. We now have 70 members and welcome new members, whether you love and live in Te Arai or love Te Arai as a visitor.

Love Te Arai is finally ready to launch! After many years of organization and caretaking, we are happy to welcome new members in.
The Auckland Council Regional Park of Te Arai has three access points to reach the stunning coastline and beaches. It includes a highly sensitive dune and lake ecosystems, wetlands, coastal broadleaf forest and regenerating forest. Formerly known as Te Arai Forestry, the park features a long sandy beach towards the southern end that is popular with surfers. You can also visit Te Arai Point to explore the headland or take a dip in the disused quarry. Parking is available at Pacific Road with pedestrian access to the beach over the dunes and to the northern part of the extensive track network.
Founded in our community, we have banded together to preserve and enhance the natural ecology of the Te Arai region.
As a group, we help trap pests, do regenerative planting, treat kauri for dieback, monitor rare birds (Fairy Tern, Australasian Bitterns), and remove plastic from our beaches.
We are involved in caring for Te Arai so people who venture to our beautiful regional park, beaches, walking tracks, golf courses, horse riding trails, and events can enjoy the pristine environment.
